i don't usually go for the whole this day in history thing but i just happen to be listening to some shows (10/17, 20 & 21) from this run...and hey what do ya know -- it's the 20th today...

http://www.archive.org/details/gd78-10-20.sbd.lai.4159.sbeok.shnf

the show starts off with a nice "minglewood" to get warmed up -- the mix settles right in -- on the recordings i've got, the mix for these shows is spot-on -- phil is plenty loud and there is great seperation among the front four

they ease into "they love each other" and what has been apparent throughout this run holds -- JERRY IS IN GREAT VOICE -- he really sounds like he's enjoying himself and he has a special rapport going with donna

jerry starts to loosen up a bit and peels off some nice, fluid runs during "cassidy" ...being in such fine voice the "dire wolf" jerry pulls out next really sets the bar high...he puts perfect emotion in every lyric, everything is sung with TRUE HEART FELT inflection.... the "el paso" that follows is nicely played but kind of lite in comparrison

"ten jed" drags a little in the middle but jerry explodes on the closing jam..then, IT'S A GROUP EFFORT to pull off a ROUSING "it's all over now"....they really sound like they're havin a ball...jer stretches out nice on the middle jam

the set rounds out nicely...jer lays a great "loser" on us, more fantastic, heart felt vocals.... and bobby delivers the block buster set ender "lazy lightning>supplication" with gusto

the SECOND SET does not dissapoint...jerry's amazing vocal performance continues....and they heat up a hot 20 minute dancin'

1/2 step>
franklin's tower
dancin' in the streets>
drums>space>
not fade>
black peter>
around & around

E: johny b goode, shake down

one of those night when jerry just wanted to keep on goin....great show

One of my favorite runs. FYI - nugs.net has them all. Yes they're MP3 but they still sound damn good

how about the estimated > he's gone from 10/21....everyone is headed towards china doll and then jerry remembers they're pre-drums and into he's gone they go.....?....great stuff through to the end of the set...good vibe on mojo

and the next night they get caution going...
